European Patent Attorney with EQE qualification (for our office in Brussels)

Full time function.

Function
The available position involves contact with clients such as the R&D staff of industrial companies, small & medium sized enterprises or universities, in order to prepare in depth analyses of each project, to formulate advice concerning the patentability of inventions, to supervise or to prepare drafts for patent applications and to defend them before official Patent Offices including during oral proceedings.

This function also includes the management of patent portfolios as well as the development of strategies concerning the management of the portfolio, and the handling of litigation with the help of external lawyers for our clients.

The administrative aspects will be handled by other staff members.

Profile
The ideal candidate has graduated as a Civil/ Industrial Engineer (possibly with additional training) or as a PhD in ELECTRONICS, ELECTRICITY, MECHANICS or BIOTECHNOLOGY and CHEMISTRY. Several years of experience in the industry and/ or R&D. Experience of at least 5 years in the field of patents in an industrial company or a private practice and a degree of European Patent Attorney is required. Any extra degree as national patent attorney will be considered an asset.

Preferably, the candidate should have an analytical mind. Flexible contact with other staff members and a natural aptitude for setting up realistic reports are essential, as is the ability to work individually.

Languages
- Perfect spoken and written knowledge of English.
- Perfect knowledge of either French, Dutch or German.
- Knowledge of other languages: Dutch, French and/or German are an asset.

2 Junior Patent Engineers (for our office in Brussels, Liège, Ghent)

Full time function.

Function
The available position involves contact with clients such as major industrial companies, small and medium sized companies or private inventors in order to prepare in depth analyses of each project, to formulate advice concerning the patentability of inventions, to prepare technical texts and to defend them before the official Patent Offices. For administrative aspects, the candidates will be assisted by other staff members.

Profile
The ideal candidate has graduated as a Civil/ Industrial Engineer (possibly with additional training) or as a Master degree in ELECTRONICS, ELECTRICITY, MECHANICS, CHEMISTRY or BIOCHEMISTRY. Several years of experience in the industry and/ or R&D and a strong interest in innovation and patents are a must.

An analytical mind, flexible contact with other staff members and a natural aptitude for setting up realistic reports are essential, as is the ability to work individually. Experience in the field of patents is not compulsory, special training will be provided by the office.

Languages
- Perfect spoken and written knowledge of French or Dutch and English.
- Knowledge of German is an asset.

Senior Accountant (for our office in Brussels)

Fulltime or Part-time function.

Function
You will take care of the follow-up of incoming and outgoing invoices, as well as general and analytical accounting, preparing annual accounts and declaration of income tax under the supervision of an external accountant and external auditors. These aspects do not have any secrets for you.
You will assist external experts in preparation of periodical closing and annual reports as well as other financial reports
You will also be responsible for the implementation of a new accounting software as well as the development of interfaces between the accounting software and the software which manages our core business.

Profile
You have at least a bachelor degree in accounting, and should be self driven. You feel comfortable with respecting deadlines.
Good knowledge of French or Dutch is required, as well as a written understanding of English. Computer skills are required.

Junior Accountant (for our office in Brussels)

Fulltime or Part-time function.

Function
You will take care of the follow-up of incoming and outgoing invoices, as well as general and analytical accounting.
You will also be responsible for the administrative follow-up of the annuity department. You will transmit the clients’ instructions to our furnishers and plan payments on the due dates.

Profile
You have at least a high school degree in accounting, and are interested in a variation of tasks. You feel comfortable with respecting deadlines.
Good knowledge of French or Dutch is required.
Computer skills are required.
An experience of at least six months is required (internships are taken into account).
